I know when I was growing up we ate meals at the dining table but I find myself eating more meals in front of the TV or even sitting at the computer. Anyone else find themselves doing this?

No.
I eat at the table and watch TV from the table in my dinette area.
Eat where you want. We are in our golden years and can do and eat where our little hearts desire.
Ever eat nude????
Try it. It feels good outside in the sun.....

We eat in the den in front of the TV quite often, we have a big coffee table that makes it too easy. Besides in the evening we usually eat pretty light, sometimes just cereal or popcorn, or chips and dip, so it isn't like it's a big meal. We still eat our meals at the table. Once in a while I eat something at the computer but it is like a cup of soup or something easy to hang on to. I have a big desk anyway and I just set it to the side so I do't spill it on the keyboard, lol! In the summer I eat out on the deck and don't watch much TV at all.

Our kitchen is too small to have a dining table as is the living room and there isn't a dining room (we have kitchen and living room downstairs and 2 bedrooms + bathroom upstairs).
We have all our meals in front of the TV and on odd occasions we have had meals whilst on our laptop. Not a good idea to eat cheesecake while on though coz it can plop off the spoon onto the keyboard!
As a kid we always sat to the table to eat and it was unheard of for anyone to have their meals anywhere else unless poorly but mother tried to get us up out of bed for meals no matter how ill we were....."beds are for sleeping in, not for eating meals!"

If I cook a large meal for dinner I usually sit at the table too eat it. Sometimes I have dinner in front of the TV so I can listen to the evening and local news.

I rarely eat while sitting at my computer, but alway have a drink handy.

I also live alone.

When my husband and I separated, I ate every meal by the tv. We are back together and each meal is at the dining room table. I wouldn't eat at the computer (it's just me) because I might spill crumbs on (or is it in) it.. Especially no drinks there..

I eat most of my meals at the dining room table with my better half. I may eat a sandwich at lunchtime while sitting at my computer, now & then, but I am very careful so as not to get food on my keyboard.

In front of the TV, yes - but not the computer. Sitting at a table wouldn't be any fun or enjoyable whatsoever as I live alone...so I have a large bamboo tray I use and usually eat around the time for House Hunters on HGTV! :-)

I turn on the computer in the morning to catch up on what's happening in Answers, and I always have a cup of coffee while reading.

We can see the TV here in the family room from the kitchen eating area, and yes, we've gotten into the habit of watching it also. I'm most guilty, though...especially when my husband is working.

Only for the last fifteen years or so. Every meal. It's lonesome at the table. If I do sit at the table with a meal I couldn't safely eat in my easy chair I must have a book to read.

...right now we eat in front of the TV on our trays. I honestly don't remember the last time when I ate a meal at a table. That was the norm when I was growing up. I miss it.

Yes I do. Sometimes it is the only time I can get on the computer. The kids are all gone so watching TV while I eat is good. I usually watch 21/2 Men during supper !!!
