I don't know why anybody cares what Oprah Winfrey thinks about the candidates. I suppose her opinion matters more than Britney Spears', but not by much. -yk

properly, Turkey Pizza toddler, or ought to I call you Ms. toddler? Oprah for president? Why, purely by way of fact she is time-honored and has a great promo team? the uncomplicated answer is "no" by way of fact she is a character and isn't any longer qualified to steer a rustic dealing with nuclear threats from worldwide huge. i comprehend, Oprah ought to get the nutcase leaders of the countries that want us all lifeless and say, "Oh come on, fellas, Oprah do no longer want no nuclear stuff wiping out humanity. Come on, what say Oprah supply you all a sparkling Cadillac or maybe even a form of states interior the midwest that have not have been given sophistication like Oprah do? She obviously thinks her devoted followers are going to be on board with her on anything she does. Not always the case.

Remember that Barbra Streisand concert held a year or two where Babs hired a George W. Bush look-a-like to perform with her on stage, pretty much making him look like a fool?

No matter what your feelings are about Bush, it really wasn't the forum to do such satire. People paid good money to hear her sing, not turn the event into a political rally. Some Streisand fans (of her music, that is) do support Bush knowing full well that Babs is a liberal Democrat, but they know to separate the politics from the music.

As far as Oprah goes, she is free to support whoever she wants in the upcoming election. However, she should also realize that people who idolize her otherwise won't necessarily be on board with her politically. They're not "sheeple" after all.

I think a better question is "Why do you think we care so much about Oprah Winfrey nominating her preferencial candidate for President?"
Seriously... shes entitled to an opinion just like everyone else but heifers everywhere go apesh*t when Oprah says anything.

Funny that so many people are against this. It is, afterall, a free country. Do not people come on here all the time and tell us who they think they should vote for? What difference does being famous make? You're still a citizen with the right to free speech in this country, despite your economic or entertainment status. It is downright unconstitutional and unAmerican to say that someone like Oprah does not have a right to state her political leanings. Celebrities that support conservative candidates get to do it. I'd bet my life savings that most people who are against it are only so because they disagree with her choice.

That is presently far fetched and may not work out. But she is stealing the show. Obama's identity is getting diluted. Some may wonder why not herself in the next elections?

Poor Obama is not experienced to reckon with counter productivity and handling it. He is a man in a hurry and often puts his foot in his mouth. This may be the latest in the series.

Reverse racism means you like and respect other races. In other words it's the opposite of racism. What oprah does is flat out racism. How the he11 does Obama think he can get elected with someone who hates this nation stumping for him? After all this is the same fat pig that ignored the children of Chicago who could have used her help and said that "Americans don't deserve her help because they wouldn't appreciate it."

F that.

Personally I do not have a problem with how each candidate is promoted.
It is us to the individual who is campaigning to decide how they would like to raise public awareness for their cause.
In this particular event "Oprah" being a successful corporation is simply endorsing.
This is as American as it gets.

p.s. go Hunter!

I think you mean endorsing not nominating because the last time I checked Oprah was just another egotistical, ill-informed billionaire/millionaire celebrity ? Oprah financed, built, opened, endorsed & supported her school for girls in Africa which proved to be a mecca for scandal & abuse. ----Speaking of her above school......Why was Oprah, as an American citizen who made virtually all of her billions in America, opening a school in Africa anyway?? Where was Oprah's loyalty & concern with the needs of the US ???--- I guess Oprah has NO National Pride when it comes to America so why would ANYONE believe that she has any National Pride now in endorsing Obama ???

I think it will ultimately hurt her popularity instead of helping his.
I don't agree with one person that said it's "reversed racism"
I don't think its racist at all, but I don't believe there is such a thing as "reversed racism"..its either racism or its not.
Jessie Jackson likes to use the term reversed racism..which is saying that racism against blacks is different than racism against whites...in fact, he is saying it is the reverse...which makes it not racism at all. That's jut stupid...and racist!

Anyway, back to Obama - Oprah. I do think she is only endorsing him because he is black. Which is fine I guess...but she can't stand on her show and say it has nothing to do with him being black. We all know it does.
It doesn't bother me that she is doing it..I just think it's stupid.

When you have as much power as she does in the media, you should stand as far away from politics as you can get.
She will now be open game for all critics.
When you open a school in Africa for only black girls, and then you only endorse one candidate in your life..and he is black....wellllllll...you may be a bit biased.
Congrats to Ellen for Oprahs dumb move. Ellen is soon to be the queen of daytime.
Oprahs numbers will fall.
