We don't really get into gift giving outside of our own kids and spouses (that's if I had one) but my suggestion would be to get her something monkey proof. That's what I'd get my mother. If she's not into that kind of thing maybe a nice package from Bath and Body. Those candles and those air fresheners I really really like.

My mother collects unique Christmas tree ornaments, so I've bought her two ornanments, one from where I went to college and one that is a collector angel.

I would think that a flower child would give their mom one of her children back to her .... like a2 Red Lion Amaryllis's bulbs in a nice-sized decorative pot or if she can take the sweet smell ..... about a dozen Paper White bulbs (Narcissus) growing in a big shallow pot covered with moss.

I bought her a cute fleece shirt with penguins on it, cuz she loves Christmas-y shirts. I gave it to her early because she had a special function to go to yesterday, and she loved it.

hmm, well i get my mom a lot for christmas
usually i get her some cloths, and something for in the kitchen
and then just nic-nacks that only serve the purpose
of gathering dust :)

i made my mom a gift basket. i put tea towles in the bottom for padding and filled it with different kinds of teas and costers and a really nice mug!
