Any changes in your regular schedule, such as a vacation, or a social event, or anything that causes stress can delay a period. So can excessive exercise or strict dieting to lose weight. If you're certain it's not "the obvious", it could be due to some alteration in your usual daily activities. However, a delayed or absent period can also suggest a health problem, so if it doesn't come soon, I would tell you to see a gynecologist, just to make sure there is nothing seriously wrong.

Stress, low caloric intake, vigorous activity

Have you been stressed lately? Have there been any changes in your eating habits? Did you recently change your workout routine to something more intense perhaps?

I've experienced a late period from all of the above

Stressed during finals, anorexia, playing basketball in college

Hope this helps

Emotional stress, an unhealthy diet such as eating too little, job stress are the main reasons. If you miss too many periods, then of course, a doctor's visit is recommended. That would indicate an infection or serious illness.
But for one or two months, stress is usually the indicator that relaxation therapy is needed. Yoga, anyone?

I heard that when your really physically active, your period gets delayed. During lacrosse season, which is coming up, I'm constantly active so I have irregular periods. My friend misses her periods because a lack of meat in her diet, or something along those lines. There are a lot of other options besides being pregnant.

Stress is also a big part on your period being late, hormones, losing a good amount of weight, birth control can also make your period late.Sometimes people just have irregular periods.

well, besides pregnancy, stress has a lot to do with the coming of your period. it could be that. also:

-changes in your diet
-changes in your weight
-changes in your birth control pills of choice
-going on the Shot
-a possibly STD (get yourself tested just in case)
-with the stress alongside, depression, frustration, being sick, paranoia could all have an effect

Hope that helped!

Stress can cause this as well as being underweight. If you are on the pill, you shouldn't really be "late" so that would be a cause for concern. But, if you aren't on oral contraceptives, it's normal to be late sometimes.

In general life style change or no reason.

All other answers so far are good also.

See a gynaecologist or fitness specialist if you do not gave it soon, just for your peace of mind.

Your system may be out of normal, hormones and other things can be detected by blood test.

If you are younger, your period could just not be on a regular schedule yet. It is completely normal for teenagers to not have a regular period schedule.
