I've just gotten into politics and I tend to lean in more towards Democratic, but I still hate abortion.
But this year are we going to get another Republican president or is it hard to say?

There are more registered Democrats than Republicans. That said, I believe the country is pretty much split down the middle between liberals and conservatives, with the vast majority having fairly moderate views. These moderates are the ones who decide elections.

I hate abortion, too, but I don't necessarily think it should be against the law. If it were illegal, women would be going to back alleys to have their abortions. The problem wouldn't go away, it would just go underground, like prostitution and illegal drug use.

Vote for Rudy!

Unfortunately, I think the pendulum has swung back to Democrats, because of the poor governance of the GOP over the last 7 years or so. They have become just another big gov't party, so have turned off a lot of their base.

As for what you should be, look at each party's stance on the issues important to you. Not just the big 2, but all of them. Whichever party you agree with the most, is what you should affiliate yourself with.
