Division III cannot give out athletic scholarships. The difference between Division I and II are the number of full/partial scholarships offered that can be given out per sport, the facilities and the financial commitment by the university to athletics.

Obviously, there are better facilities and more scholarship opportunities at Division I, but tennis may be a niche sport for certain programs at Division II and you just may be able to get a better financial aide package at Division III than athletic scholarship at the other levels.

The play is solid at the national levels at each division, and it would vary per university commitment....there are some solid Division III programs that could knock-off programs in the other divisions in a match.

If you are in HS, talk with your coach or club pro - if you are getting lessons at a club or are a member of a club - as they will be able to give you some direction as you start your search. What you don't want is to select a college and then have to tryout just to make the team.....you want to have at least a spot on the team as a freshman and have the opportunity to play varsity matches that first year.
