Last week, my 1991 Ford Escort Stationwagon with automatic transmission was towed from a parking lot. I was not there when it was towed, so I do not know how it was towed. When I got the car back it made a loud noise when I turned the engine on (similar to like a motorcycle), and when I drive the engine is much louder than before. Does anyone know what the problem could be and how I could fix it? I tried to be as detailed as I can, as I do not know much about cars. Thanks for anyone who can help!!

when they towed your car your exhaust pipe may have been scratched to the concrete road that could have made a hole or something that created a loud noise as you have stated

Sounds like the exhaust was damaged. I would check there first.
