im tired of the ordinary day to day life. i want more than to be just another sheep in the herd, i want to be part of something bigger than myself, something that has meaning and purpose, im just tired of this......anyone have some wisdom to share?

Depends, are you Christian? If you are then in faith it is said that you will know when your "calling in life" has happened. Sometimes this "calling, however, can be as simple as giving birth. Sometimes it's as complex as saving lives everyday. It depends on what God has in store for you. I'd say just sit back, enjoy life, and wait for it. Your fate is inevitable. Be patient and your "calling" will come someday.

Purpose refers to questions such as, "why was I put on earth" and "what am I supposed to do here?", etc. The problem is that purpose in life requires God.
If we reject God, we reject purpose and meaning so the only thing left is trying to find things to do that make us feel good.
If you want to be a part of something bigger, then seek God, otherwise everything is just as meaningless as we are.
