"get something free"

There's two types of these web sites.

The first: Fill out 1-10 sponser offers, and win a free ?????. This is legitimate, however you've just signed up for a lifetime supply of spam.

The second: Quick! Give me your SOC # or Birth date or Credit Card #. These are con artists who specialize in taking your money. This method can also take the form of "Send $10,000 to the ??? gov't to claim your prize / to prevent ???"

That is all just a rip off. They tell you have won something and then you have to answer dozens of questions and be willing to sign up for junk you don't want. And believe me I have signed up once and got nothing free. As soon as they ask for your credit card number, just close out or you will be taken.
