I'd really appreciate it.
1. I go to Lane Tech, a public magnet school in Chicago.
2. I have a 3.9 GPA
3. I have a 22 act composite score
4. I'm ranked 132 out of 877 = top 15%
5. I've been in Key Club, Journalism, Vietnamese club, and Student Council
6. I started off high school taking all regulars, got straight 'A's, then switched my curriculum to all honors.
7. I've taken AP US History, AP Micro and Macro Econ, AP Stats, and AP Computer Science.


Please pray for me. I only have a six percent chance, according to the school's website.

Just hope your grades will get you through. Your GPA is what UIUC likes to see. It's the ACT which will kill you. You should retake the ACT and try to score at least a 25.
On a side note, you'll have no problem getting accepted into UIC.
The three UI campuses are required to give each other's campuses potential transfers, second priority. The rule is that if you meet the minimum requirements, and if there is space, they are suppose to accept you.

Its not the GPA that will hold you back its the ACT score. It really depends on what college you are applying to. The college of engineering is the hardest and that ACT score might hold you back. If you look at the stats on the website you will see each college has it own standards. All of your other stats are good, so they may see the good out weigh bad. Good luck!!!

It doesn't say that people with a 22 or below on the ACT have a 6% acceptance rate. It says that 6% of the incoming freshman have a 22 or below. There is a big difference.
