I grew up with my Dad telling me I was stupid and would never amount to anything, I tried for years to convince him that maybe I would get further with positive than negative and it finally sunk in about the time I was 40!!

My mom was a hippie and my dad was in the Marines. I was a free lovin' stoner with sharply creased pants and the ability to bounce a quarter off my bed.
I wouldn't change a thing.

Stay married for 23 years and THEN divorcing. Mother should have divorced Daddy when they had been married for only two weeks. Or, better yet, never have married him at all. Never "stay together for the sake of the kids." It's stupid and everybody gets hurt.

I would not want them to meet. They have made life hell for anyone they ever came into contact with. My mom has been gone since I was really young, though.

my mother telling me that she hated me and that i was a mistake.
I love her anyways, and i know she regrets saying it now. But it really hurt me when she said it and it has never let me look at her the same.
