Parents have been married 55yrs, and I have
been over 20yrs. Dedication, honesty, love,
communication, committment, builds up a
rock solid marriage foundation, if both people
are involved and can't be broken by anyone
or anything.

I personally have be3en married 10 years...2ND marriage....
even though a marriage takes a lot of give and take and plain old hard work staying together has it's rewards....As the years pass the love grows stronger and you two turn into great friends if you are lucky. Kind of like the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow

LAUGHTER LAUGHTER LAUGHTER
I'm married 14 years and my husband still makes me laugh out loud.
Make sure you sleep together, say you love each other regularly (not TOO often, then it loses impact) and at least once a week do something together just the two of you even if it's just a walk on the beach and catch up on everything.
Helps if you marry the right person of course. If this wasn't working, I'd have no hesitiation in leaving. We all make mistakes.

If you wait until you meet the right person; marriage can be great; if you settle for less than what will make you happy, it can be a disaster. I love being married for over 20 years!

Just because they are together for a long time doesn't mean they a happy. I have been married for 9 years, and i haven't been happy for the last 5 years. Ask them why they have really been together soo long.

It's just loving the person that you are with, not being able to live without them I suppose. My husband and I can't stand being apart. I mean of course we fight, everyone does, but still always love each other. I don't know exactly what it is... but it's a great feeling =]

Their is really no way to explain it. When you love somebody so much you would do anything to keep them safe and do anything to keep them happy, you would die for them, walk a million miles around the earth in fire to just be with them. It is actually deeper than that, its a feeling of being connected in a way that is indescribable.

I think forgiveness is a big factor. It can make or break a relationship, and without fully understanding your partner your not able to love them. Understanding equals love.

The hardest part for me was to accept my husband for all of his faults choosing to be with him for the rest of my life was easy. It depends on the person.

Lots of kinky sex, drinking on the weekend and catering to special wishes. It also helps to be there when your partner needs you because of illness, strees or any other problem.
