2 people had sex. 2 people knew what could happen. 1 condom broke/didnt break. 1 possible baby on the way. dont think that blame is really the issue you should be discussing...........

I wouldn't place blame on the condom itself but for the decisions made by the 2 having sex. If they knew what they were doing and both equally consented then it would be their decision that caused the pregnancy. Condoms are only 97% effective when used correctly! that leaves a 3% chance of the woman getting pregnant. most people think that if they put the condom on just before they "come" then they are still safe but the reality is that there is a HUGE chance for pregnancy because the man produces a pre-ejaculate that contains sperm. so your chances go from about 3% to 80% when the condom is used incorrectly.
You cannot place blame on the condom or the condom company for an unwanted pregnancy, they cover themselves quite well by putting their product's effectiveness on the box or in the instructions for use.

In my opinion, NO one is at "fault," for it would have happened either way because it was obviously meant to. The whole 'condom pregnancy' thing is still a mystery, and probably always will be! I was using a condom when I got pregnant, and no, there were no holes, didn't break, didn't come off, etc...but, it didn't have spermacide on it, and I couldn't be happier that it didn't work!
However, if I had to chose, I would say guy's because traditionally, the condom is worn by the guy and any man will tell you they can feel a difference when it's on, off or even torn.

Condoms are not and have never claimed to be 100% effective and it says so on the box. So if you get pregnant while using a condom, it's the people who had the sex to blame. This is the case even if another form of birth control werel used. You can't blame the birth control because usually when birth control fails it's due to human error. You are correct. Good for you for staying a virgin! You sound smart!

I agree with you. The couple who decided to engage in sex is responsible for all consequences. A condom cannot be blamed for causing a pregnancy. There is a warning on condom packages saying the product is not 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. It is the consumer's choice to read or not read any warnings on a product, and it is the consumer's choice to use a product. Therefore, it is the boy and girl who are to blame for the pregnancy.

The boy and girl are to blame. The condom advertises itself as 97% accurate in preventing pregnancy...not 100%. So in addition the girl should have been on birth control too.
But honestly if they hadn't of had sex at all, she wouldn't be pregnant right?
That's my theory....

Just in case you don't know, there isn't any form of contraceptive that is 100% for preventing pregnancy. The only sure way to not get pregnant is not to have sex at all. The word is abstinence. So for as to whose fault it is if one gets pregnant, it is the fault of both the guy and the girl. It wouldn't happen if they both kept their pants on and their hands to themselves.

I guess I'd have to say both the boy and girl for not using extra protection. The condom package even says not 100% effective.

It's not necessarily anyones fault- but it's certainly not the condoms fault. If they engage in sexual intercourse then they need to be prepared for anything that may happen and take the blame/responsibility that comes along with it.

i think that if you choose to have sex condom or not your taking a risk therefore i think that its the peoples fault not the condom!! Usually if a condom breaks its because it hasn't been put on properly!! So that would be human error!!
