I feel like a dork asking sometimes but one person said that anyone who added her without her permission would be blocked.

I don't care if they email me or not, if they want me as a contact, then they can add me...if down the road I discover they are a little "off" then I will block them.
Don't feel like a dork by emailing but if you prefer to just add them and they block you for it--it is their lose not yours, they are probably doing you a favor by blocking you.

Don't feel like a dork!! You're not. I usually get an email asking if I would like to be a contact, if I know who it is, I say yes. I usually do know. However, I have asked several people that I am very fond of, if they would be my contacts and no response. It's ok as it doesn't change the way I feel about them. They show up as contacts in my list and that's alright. I would be privileged to be your contact. Take care, love. : }

Nope because I can always check them out before deciding whether to add them as well or not and 9 times out of 10, I have no problem with it :-)

It give the person you want to add to your contact a chance to check your profile out. You may wanna talk to me, but I might not wanna talk to you. There are some freaks out there in cyber-space!

well it does help to know something about the person and i have declined people because i felt they didn't have any of the same interests as mine and what's the point.

i hate it when people add just for the sake of having a contact.
if i don't want that person as a contact then i don't add that person. ☺
