It was the best! Movies were great, T.V. was great, music was AWESOME!!!!!!. The television now is all murder, the people of the '80s seemed to be happy-go-lucky and hopeful for the future. Now look at us. Big change.

It's one of my favorite three decades. (70's, 80's, and 90's.) I think the first half of the 80's were cooler than the second half of the 80's though as far as music and fashion is concerned.
Second half of the 80's, music and fashion wasn't that good, overall. Still much better than today though. I just think if the entire 80's could have had music and fashion that the early part of the decade had, it would have been the best decade ever!
Besides music and fashion, the entire decade was great! Reagan, much to the dismay of modern Liberals, will go down in history as one of the greatest presidents ever as well. He deserves to!
I could say more about the 80's and 80's compared to today but I'd have to write a book.
Greatest decade ever? One of the greatest decades ever.

The 80's was a good decade. We had a President that was popular, interest rates were drastically reduced from the late 70's, cost of living was reasonable, corporate downsizing and out-sourcing were not the norm, wage ratios were very good-excellent.
Personally, and at risk of giving away my age, I really enjoyed the 50's and early 60's. With the exception of the Cold War, everything was great. Patriotism flourished, you could by a very nice 3-bedroom all-brick home in a nice "burb" for well under $20K, television and music were admittedly a nit corney -but- it was fun and innocent......no smut.
Dope was a term used to describe a "dummy," (w) rap was something you did with gifts, a hoe was a gardening tool, and you could mention God in the classroom without fear of a lawsuit.
For the most part, many men were still gentleman and girls were ladies (outwardly anyway.) It was a great time to grow up - really !!
