Placebo is an alternative rock band that i am obessesed with. Im surprised they are not huge in america yet, but they are huge in the rest of the world. ( myspace.com/placebo )

to rketz..yes im aware that pure morning put them on the charts but that was in 1998!!! that was placebo's 2nd album and currently theyr working on their 6th for spring 2008. thats a hell of a long time to be at the level they are here in the US.
they don't get any more radio airplay..and from what im aware of they arent mentioned on mtv, rollingstone magazine, not even from they're recent projekt revolution appearance

Awesome, I love Placebo! I'm not American, but Australian, yet here in Aus, we're pretty much exposed to the same things as in the States. I first saw Placebo on TV, and I went out and bought their albums right away :)
But usually, I check out wikipedia for bands, to scope out anything I might like. Most of the best bands are not played on MTV.

They got major radio airplay from their second album with the song Pure Morning back in 1998. Trust me, they're more well known here than you might otherwise realize.
