On my laptop, my antivirus expired and I couldn't afford to update it. Two weeks I have it updated the McAfee and I have scanned it for viruses, etc. The big problem is: before the update my desktop was covered with a link to a virus protection site. It wouldn't let me control my desktop or properties. I tried to change the desktop, but that huge hijacking desktop is covering it. It won't leave! How do I fix this?!

Hi! I don't appreciate the criticism. If you can't answer MD, then just don't. The link is the size of my desktop and it won't move. When I point to the desktop, the arrow turns into a pointing hand. That's it. That is all it can do.

My advice would be to run both the smitfraudfix and the vundofix, and follow them by running Superantispyware in safe mode.

To be honest, I don't really understand the question. (I am having a problem with your grammer).

Have you tried to reboot, and keep clicking on the key "F8", until you get into a "Safe Mode". Then use your cursor to go back to your "last good configuration". (If you have no desktop you are unable to perform last good restore). If that does not work, then try "safe mode", using key "F8", and see if you get back your desktop. If you do try a system restore.

Don't know what else to tell you as I fail to understand how your desktop could be "secured with a link to a virus protection site that would not let you control your own desktop". (There is no logic in what you are saying, unless you have been 'HIJACKED").
