Nortons is the very worse garbage in the world. Stay away from, it after you remove Nortons. Nortons leaves behind atleast 375 fragments glued to all your registry keys, files, folders and hidden in your system. It is hell trying to remove these fragments. (If you need special software that is free to remove any write protected file, ctc., me and I will give you the link, plus indepth instruction on how to get rid of all of Nortons. Add/Remove, only removes pieces of Nortons.
You can start by going to your tray and open start, open run and type in: c://programs files. Click on browse, and click on program files. Look for Nortons or Symantec and try and delete the files. (If they delete fine, if not ctc. me).
Next go to start, search and type in: Nortons and let your pc scan for the file, when the files come up delete all related files from the top to the bottom. If some files don't delete reboot and do all over again and they should delete.
Go back to search and type in; Symantec, (not sure of spelling). Let your pc search for Symantec, and delete all of the files from to bottom. If any don't delete then reboot and try again.
If you consider yourself an expert in computers, you can type in run: regedit and click on "ok", and this will open your registry. Open "HKEY CURRENT USER, OPEN SOFTWARE, and look for Nortons & Symantec, and delete the registry keys associated with the files. Don't advise you do this unless you really know what you are doing. If you delete the wrong registry keys you may have to reinstall your entire system.

Belt and braces ! effective set up the SBC element (er, if it does not value you something?) - yet why then UNinstall Nortons ? regularly that is available to have a 2d opinion with ANY antivirus application - nevertheless i've got faith that is "undesirable" to have 2 distinctive ones particularly working on the comparable time. yet no injury in having one consistently working, and basically have the different on your laptop yet no longer working, so which you will change over if/whilst ever you go with for. (BTW, I believe before poster - AVG is thoroughly unfastened - for own use - and has been perfect for me for some years :-) hyperlink under.)
