We bought it about 2 days into December and we can see signs of it drying up...how can we keep it fresh up until Christmas day? And no we are not willing to buy a new one...or a fake reusualble one.

If you bought a cut tree, recut the bottom of the trunk and make sure you keep water in the holder. Trees can "heal over" really quick when on the lot. Adding stuff can cause bacteria to grow.

live with it this year. Do you keep it watered? Try to keep the tree in a cool spot. Next year cut your own tree down, don't go to the corner and buy a pre-cut tree.

I trust you're keeping plenty of water in the resevior, otherwise there is chemicals(additives) you can buy, I've even been told aspirin helps.
