Well, USA came about. And it led to the French revolution and the independence wars from Latin America from Spain. And it led to the Napoleonic wars on the early 1800s. And led the world into the XIX century Victorianism But enough it founded the USA, that will become, for better or worse, a future superpower.

Actually, it wasn't important. If it had not happened, we would still be part of the British Empire, just as Canada is. And during world wars and such we would still have been on the same sides, though we would have entered them earlier.

I mean, look at Canada. They are free to do as they wish. England doesn't own them. They have their own laws and taxes. Britain doesn't oppress them in any form at all. So, what WAS the importance of the war of American Independence? We just wanted to quit paying the King of England any taxes, and keep all of our money here. We didn't need the British Army or Navy to protect us anymore. It's just like some guy who decides he wants to leave the Mafia because he feels he doesn't need their protection anymore.

Slavery would have been abolished sooner or later. Our form of government would now be like Britain's, which actually operates just as well as ours.

If anything, the British Empire and all its common wealth of nations would be even stronger than we are now.

And I'm not from Britain, never even been there, never care to go there. If anything I would go to Scotland! Failte!
