Our culture places a great deal of value how people look. Sexy people are used in films and advertising. All princesses in fairy tales are beautiful and the princes are all handsome.
Beauty is equated to goodness and value - even though most of us find out eventually that in the real world this isn't always the case.

What's wrong with wanting to look good? After all, humans are visual creatures. And besides, physical appearance is one way to attract attention from potential mates. That's reality.
Who are all of these "looks don't matter" people? They live in an internet dreamworld.

Because today's society dictates superficial perfection. Those that buy into that notion are vain and insecure and seem to have a distorted view of self worth.

We want to attract people we are attracted too. Of course, media exaggerates it and makes out we have to be perfect. (absolute b**l) Beauty is not in perfection - not in my eyes., and it is not just in looks either - it's about the person as a whole. there is nobody uglier than one who is vain and leaves no room for others to admire because they are too busy admiring themselves.

A lot of it is to do with Media hype. If you don't look a certain way, wear the right clothes etc. You not correct in society.
Makes me mad. We don't want to be WAGS.

Because no matter how many times people say that personality is more important everyone secretly knows that physical attraction is also important and that the better your look the more men/women you get. unfortunately that's how shallow we have become
