I just got a cordless 9.6v drill today to hang mt flat screen televisions. Will this drill be powerfull enough?

It will as long as you don't push too hard, have a good shrap bit and a back-up battery...It will drain fast...

It should be if it is fully charged and you have sharp drill bit. Make sure you know where the studs are so you don't drill into an electrical cable or a water line.

If the drill stops and seems run-down recharge it and then continue. Usually those are about 1/4 or 3/8 inch holes so that sounds doable with that kind of drill.

If it's not too late take it back and exchange it for a real drill. For cordless drills you need at least 14.4V to do much of anything and 18 V is really the best. If it's a tool you will be using very much get something that will last like Dewalt, Ridgid, Milwaukee. If it's just for occasional use you can get by with a Ryobi or Black and Decker.

Yes, no problem. I drill through studs with my cordless as part of the job.
