I am making book baskets for the children in my family , so I need alot of books. They do need to be new. We live in New Jersey

Well, for the absolutely cheapest way to buy books, I would suggest thrift stores and garage sales.

Now, it's been a while since I lived in New Jersey, but I'm pretty sure garage sales are out of the question for you, but still, you can find a lot of books, especially Children's if you're willing to give up a few hours of your weekend time.

Also, try and find out if there is a small area or a store of some sort in any of the libraries near you that sells books that for whatever reason, can not be in the library system anymore. Most books would have remnants of their past life. Barcodes, etc. But still, you can beat less than a dollar per book! :)

If you don't have the time to do the above, then well, there are the obvious three choices:

Amazon
Ebay
Half.com

You can also try overstock.com, but I don't know too much about the site.

Amazon without a doubt. Of course in the US you have Bookers which are relatively cheap but Amazon have great offers.
