I have one comming up and I hate going, but im not a geek, im a loner. If I were a geek id be in the geek group. But im not in a group. I dont have any friends either. At my school, you have to go to every dance otherwise your a geek. I don't like going cause I don't get asked, when I ask a guy he says no. I can't go with a friend cause I don't have even one, I can't go by myself cause I tryed that once and came home crying. Go you thing im a geek cause I don't go? Im in JR. High not Highschool.

Damn... Your school must be much different than mine. Where I grew up it was considered dorky if you did go to a dance!
Once upon a time I was somewhat of a loner too because I didn't buy into all the drama that was going on back when I was a teenager. Screw it. Who cares? Do your thing, hang with whatever friends you want, and be your own person. High school is very temporary and in no way is an indication of who you will become. In a few years you won't even care.

Jr. high and high school can suck man. I didn't like going to dances either when I was a Jr high and high school student - I never thought they were any fun. I think if you hate going, then don't go.
However, I am sad for you that you don't have any friends. If you are a loner by choice, then that's one thing, but if you are just accepting your 'fate,' then that's another. It might be worth your while to try and open up and make friends with a few folks. I'm not judging, just a suggestion.

nop i dont think ur a geek, if u dont like dances who cares if u dont go, i never go n i have plenty of friends but i cant dance , that doesnt make me a geek I even have an award for the most popular girl . lol

I'm with Jake B on this! It used to be absolutely geeky to attend any school sponsored activities. So, apparently times have changed. I'd say, do whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

Dont worry about it. the ones i went to in jr high were stupid anyway. no one dances, they just run around and make fun of people. its not worth your time.
dont worry what other people think. they just want to get a rise out of you...if you dont buy into it, they will give up on it

nahh middle school dances are dumb.
I used to feel that I didn't have any friends either but that totally got better in high school =) and I have a lot of friends now
