Three less than the square root of fifty percent more than the number of manned Apollo missions that landed on the moon.

That's the formula aliens always use. I have it on good information. You do the math. It's too hard for me.

There are eight, although they are not much as bases go. Six of them have the base of a lander and a flag, some have a moon buggy, some have automated rovers, and some have retroreflectors. The six with flags had some intelligent beings while the other two were robot vehicles.

At some of them, devices were left behind to study seleneology but rumors are that they are old technology, probably almost 40 years behind us in sophistication.

All eight were clearly set up by non-Lunars (therefore, aliens).

Considering the fact that we Earthlings are aliens where the moons territory in concerned I'd say there are 5-6. Just as many as the Apollo missions left items behind.

There are two on the nearside and at least four on the farside. All are in the shadows in deep craters so they can't easily be spotted.

It was recently discovered that the Apollo 13 accident was caused by a particle beam that originated from one of the nearside bases.

We currently have satellites watching all these bases, but most of the activity from them has been directed into deep space rather than towards Earth.
