Why do people give a low rating for answers that are either one word, but satisfies the question or, for longer answers that stay on topic and fully answers the question? I see this happen all of the time. I think its unfair.

I believe no matter what kind of answer you provide, nice, rude, 100% correct or personal opinion, you're going to get a thumbs-down from the thumbs-down trolls.
So far, we have Thumbs-Down Trolls, Report Trolls and Rude Trolls, how many Trolls must there be!
I usually give people Thumbs-Up unless they're answer is rude.

I thumbs down the long ones because it takes up too much space. Thumbs down will shrink it. If the q can't be answered in a few lines, an email is in order.

Some people just hand out "thumbs downs" because they're rotten. It's the Y!A equivalent of giving a stranger a dirty look for no reason.

some people are ridiculous! They "thumbs down" things that are good. We do have "thumbs down" trolls...I really want to know who they are...?!!?

sometimes I get thumbs down on my answers
because people disagree with my answer.
who knows what goes on in their head?
"I don't like her name, shark . So i'm going to give her a thumbs down."
