i agree. children are not taught to do these things nowadays so they grow up with a selfish attitude.
i drive and always stop if i see people having difficulty crossing the road, either with a pram and kids or an elderly person. dont care about the cars behind me.
if was on a bus i would tell a child to give up their seat to a person more deserving. the embarrassment would maybe make them think more in future.

Not any more, I'm the elderly woman hoping some nice young person will give up their seat for me!
I'm happy to report that there are a lot out there who still will!

I didn't used to but I do now. When my wife was pregnant and working no-one got up for her at the mall or on public transport. However she convinced me not to be as bad as everyone else around here - and she does give up her seat for such folk!
Gosh, writing that down make me feel so lucky to have her.

Yes I always do. It really annoys me when I see a pregnant lady or elderly person standing up and no-one offers them a seat. Its really bad manners.

elderly folk and pregnant women -absolutely yes.
sometimes I have read that on the London tube network, fat women were mistaken for being pregnant and people gave their seats only be told off !. so sometimes it could backfire if you cannot make the difference between the two.But if it is obvious, do give up your seat.

i have in the past given up my seat for pregnant women or the elderly, but lately every time i have they didn't even bother to say thank you, i don't want a meddle for doing something i know is right but it's just plain good manners to at least say thank you .

Yesterday, I was heading home by bus. It was full of people and you couldn't even breathe ! !! Suddenly, some1 stood up and I was near him, but I didn't sit in order to offor the seat to an olm man who looked very tired....
Isn't that what we should all do in order to make our world a little better ?>

No we dont have to be like that. Yet i would love to give my seat up..Unfortunately i cant..Im disabled..Sometimes people have valid reasons for not doing so and even though you cant outwardly see my disability or my little boys one for that matter...(m epileptic and he has are brain condition) I now do my best not to judge..........
But yes..Some people can be naturally rude and not bother at all.

I always open doors and give up my seat for elderly people. Anyone who doesn't just wasn't raised right.
