Hi, This might sound like a really stupid question but I have no clue about any of this, before I got pregnant I never heard of this.?
My kitten will not cover it's number #2 up , and it's making me mad.My fiance is at work and I know I can't clean it, but you can't get toxoplasmosis through the air,? Right.
This is my first and I don't want anything to go wrong in this pregnancy.
Also I got another question by one of the scales I am 28 weeks tommorrow, by another one I am 28 weeks Wed. I got to get that RH shot ( i forget what it is called ) does it matter if I get it tommorrow or wait until Wednesday.??
Or can someone help figure this out. I am due March 6.
Thanks in advance..

From what I understand, toxoplasmosis is more likely transmitted by you coming into contact with the cat's feces. You can actually clean litter (it is suggested you cover your nose and mouth), but just wash your hands before and after. Toxoplasmosis is also more likely a problem for pet owners who allow their cats to go outside, as the toxins in cat feces come from raw meat. If your cat stays inside and only eats cat chow, however, this should not be a problem.
Please remember that pets deserve love and patience too (and if you are not willing to devote that love and patience, you need to find a family who will do that for your kitten). Would you get mad at your baby if it missed the toilet every once in a while as a toddler? Like your baby will eventually learn to properly use receptacles for its feces, your little kitten is still learning too. If he/she isn't covering its poop, you and your partner need to work harder training it to use its litterbox correctly.
I completely understand being cautious as a pregnant woman, and you have every right to be. But remember that there are plenty of toxins as you go about your every day life (cleaning chemicals, cigarette smoke, exhaust from cars, the disgusting quality of air in the U.S. in general!), and chances are, you will still more than likely be just fine.
I can't answer your second question, but my guess is a day or two does not make a difference.
Good luck, and my best wishes to you for a happy and healthy pregnancy and baby!

Try using vinyl disposable gloves when you lift the kitty litter with a litter scoop. You could also lightly spray a disinfectant over the litter before disturbing it and you might think of wearing a fine dust mask.
Your kitten has to do what it needs to do and cannot take precautions. But you can.
As for the RH thing, I don't know. Your OB/GYN / GP should be able to advise you best on medical matters. You should also ask them about the kitty litter handling and mention using gloves and a mask.

If you absolutely need to clean the litter box, cover your nose and mouth with something and wear gloves. If you've had cats for a long time, you are usually already exposed to toxoplasmosis and your body has built an immune to it, but better safe then sorry. Cover up face and hands. As for the shot, I have no idea, sorry.

I think you're safe from your kitten's "leftovers" as long as you stay away from the litterbox.
The Rh shot is called the Rhogam shot. I'm not sure what scale you are referring to, but I'm sure that as long as your doctor is okay with you getting the shot then, you should be fine.
Congratulations on the baby!

not through the air, it coming into contact with blood which not all animals bleed through pooin, especially not kittens, its more common in sheep like when adult sheep give birth and the blood thats all over the lamb, and poo in cats if they blled ask your midwife, still best not to clean it as with any animal human poo is a form of waste and often carries diseases and stuff the body doesn't want and rejects and the rh jab is fine and probably better on the wednesday then it is received when calculated which is best with a first pregnancy as they never appear exactly when due

I wouldn't take the risk with the kitty litter, so close the door so you don't have to look or smell it. 2 days isn't going to make a huge difference so don't worry about when to get the shot. Get it Tuesday - right in between.

My cat NEVER covers her poop and it smells horrible. When my husband is at work and isnt here to clean it, I just use the scoop to cover it and wash my hands after. Toxoplasmosis is not airborne so as long as you wash your hands you will be ok.

i can offer some help for your question on toxoplasmosis. also have a cat and her litter box is in the bathroom...where we also have a shower. i was concerned too about inhaling it through the air. my dr. said it was fine, and for me just not to be the one changing her litter box. you can't catch it from in the air.
congrats! and hope this helps!
