Just a few minutes ago, my husband turned to me and offered me the last few crunchy pieces of white cheddar flavored popcorn. I declined. He then said to me “I always try to give you the very best, from the curliest of curly fries to the last half popped kernals of popcorn”.

My husand has always said things through the day to bring cheer into my life, and keep a smile on my face.

Do you recall any times similar to this that you have shared?

What has someone said to you in your life that, if nothing more, has brought a smile to your face? Please share the situation and the story.

I used to be talking and my Dad would say to me ' Say something stupid ' and I would reply with ' Say something, stupid'. He would crack up and no one ever caught on the difference in the hesitation between the word 'something' and the word ' stupid '.

An age-peer lawyer in a firm where her father was senior partner and retired State Senator, and where I was secretary to his fellow senior partner: the situation. I give those details in the spirit of the societal expectations.

She had such a satirical streak that we stayed on the same wavelength for years as penpals after I left the city. In one of her letters, she called me a Free Spirit, exactly what I'd always thought of her.

One time i lived in an area where there were a lot of kids. I used ti fix their bicycles when they broke down. A lot of times they would purposely let the air out of their tires just so i could put air in them again. One time i was fixing a bike for a 9 yr old girl, and while i was fixing it, She said, Mr Green, you are the nicest person i know. Made me feel really good. Never forgot it.

I do taxes and one of the reasons I continue on is that at least once a year someone will say to me how I saved their life (financially). It makes me feel good that I was able to do something for them that they couldn't do for themselves. I would do taxes for free if I could just because of how good it makes me feel to help people in this way.

The other day my wife was depressed, and raging hormones.....and I gave her the 50$ I had put aside to go snowboarding and said : here, go and buy whatever you want.
She felt sooo good, bought a DVD and all the food she was craving. It was awesome. made me really happy.

Am I growing up? LOL. Giving is starting to feel better than pleasing myself....

My adult children are always saying something to make me laugh and I do the same to them. One of my daughters called me awhile ago and started talking to me in 'bubble talk"...sounding like she was talking underwater. I laughed sooo hard. I tried to do it back to her and started choking so hard I had to hang up. I like laughing better than anything in the world and do it numerous times a day.

I did something nice for a co-worker. I didn't think it was any big deal, but she wrote me the nicest note. I was so touched it brought tears to my eyes.
