When a man is truly in love with a woman, it is very natural for him to want to secure her for the rest of his/her life. Okay, it sounds selfish but that's part of being in love. He wants to be the only one to make her happy. That's when he wants to marry her even when he is not yet ready. However, once the infatuation period wears off, people receives the shock just how much responsibility and commitment is required for a marriage to work. That's when it hurts when people are not really ready.

Yes, it can and does happen all the time. But being willing to marry doesn't mean someone is ready to marry. Marrying for love alone doesn't guarantee a happy or long-lasting marriage. Marriage takes work, commitment, maturity and responsibility, mutual love and respect, and an ability to give and forgive to last long and work well.
