white lites and colored balls, or all one colored balls and colored lites.
But question, why wrap a dead tree in something that causes heat and fire? If you really want lites put a lite on a stand and point it at the tree, it is safer for you and all around you.
If you go to recalls you find all most all lites are recalled for bad wires etc. look at where their made, if not in the U.S. then your safety is in question from them. Ever see a tree fire? It goes up like a BBQ with gasoline used to light it! One big ball of flame.
Remember to install a smoke detector and if you have one change the battery.
Be safe and enjoy life to the fullest and Merry Christmas

depends where you put your tree and the size. if its a big tree in a very well lit area use colored lites. some white lights if there are alot of them will just make your room be too bright. colored lights are usually a safe bet but its depends where and what sizze tree you have .

Okay, so our 'tree' this year is just dowels ... my husband is making it with his drill next weekend. I'm going to use white/clear LED lights on it, and hang the ornaments ... and possibly some silver and/or gold 'garland' ... but next year at Christmas, I may buy colored LED lights and use 'green' garland ... but right now, I'm wondering how to 'decorate' our 'holiday tree' for EASTER ... I'll probably buy some nicely painted 'fake eggs' and possibly some 'pastel' LED lights if I can find them.

colored because white is too plain and boring. They give your whole tree a bright and happpy feeling. and when you turn the lights off than it looks like you have a different colored room or a disco ball if you keep them on. :o)) ;-P

My tree is fiber optic.
I thought I'd never have a fake silver tree, but after moving to Cali from Minnesota, I needed something that reminded me of the northern lights against the snow.
It's real cool and "trippy".

I actually have strands of blue and white lights. It's been a long-standing tradition that we've always had blue lights on our tree, but they don't show up that much, so I add a couple of strands of white lights too.
