I live in Tennessee and work as QC. I am about to finish with my B.S. degree in Accounting and started applying for a job. I know that some of the jobs I applied, I am very qualified. I got so many interviews and nothing happens afterwards. I am thinking that it maybe because I am Asian. I am thinking that my race has something to do with it. PLEASE HELP..... which state/city is better for me?

It is possible. I had a colleague a number of years ago who faced so much discrimination on the East Coast that she said that she went back to Taiwan, saying that if she ever came back to the U.S., it would be to the West Coast, where people were used to Asians.

However, one other thing that you might consider is your interviewing skill. Many qualified people do not get jobs because they don't come across well in an interview. Do you project enough enthusiasm for the job? Confidence in your abilities? You might want to talk to your Placement Center at your school about doing a mock interview and getting honest feedback from them. They may be able to tell you if you are doing something wrong.

Yes you are asian and that is a problem. Most large companies hire white people. THAT IS A FACT! Companies have payroll information where they must hire a certain % of races for federal compliance. You may land a job if you bs about how many languages you speak in the asian language.

My sister is white, a CPA, and staff director at Deloitte in LA, and she says most of the staff and most new hires there are Asian. She says it's because Asians typically have better GPAs and are known to be hard workers.
You won't find that sort of racism in California, particularly in the San Francisco, LA, San Diego, or Orange County areas.
