whats the american equivilant to an english village? If you live in america and dont know what a village is, its a small place with houses, and maybe a small shop.....
People who i talk to from america dont know what a village is....so what do they call them?

Your village equivalent is called a "town" here in the U.S. of A.

i think u can call such places suburbs,according to one of the previous answers...maybe as well; towns,...the countryside...?....
