what genre is persuasion by Jane Austen? Thanks : )

I would say that it's mostly a romance but there are elements of satire as there are in her other stories. It's a really good novel - and a good film as well.

These days we'd say it was Romance, but at the time it was a social criticism. Most of Austen's works are classified within the Romance genre (including the Gothic ones) but essentially were a critique of the society.
