--I know I am to call the Dr. tomorrow as soon as they open, I'm only asking this question to see if there is maybe someone out there who was miraculously been through the same thing-- :)

okay, for the past.. i'd say, three days, sleeping has been HORRIBLE for me. I am 38 weeks pregnant TOMORROW, and... If I lie on my right side while I sleep, and I go to turn over onto my back, it get the sharpest, most stabbing pain in my lower left abdomen. It takes my breath away, and I couldn't talk if I wanted to while it's happening. It seriously feels like someone is stabbing me with a butcher knife. As I sit here, I get some dull pain in the left lower abdomen, but NOTHING like if I'm switching from my right side to my back.

Any ideas?! I don't want to go to L&D but abdomen pain is scary. :(

If it ONLY happens when you roll over, it is ligament pain.

I get the same exact thing... it is ligament pain. When you are that far along, and your muscles are supporting the extra weight of the baby and uterus, it can be very painful to switch positions. You are not the only one.. believe me. Try to switch slowly... even sit up before turning over. This helps me...

I have gotten ligament pain throughout my pregnancy... but never like this. When it first happened to this extreme, I was rolling over as well... without caution... and it felt like someone was ripping my muscles apart. It was very painful.

It sounds like this is your 1rst child sweety.More than likely it's just normal baby pains,,size of the baby,,,position of the baby,,,I had alot of discomfort because of the way my babies would lay in my tummy,,and it HURT,,,alot,,,,but they were all healthy infants.Had four myself,,,now I'm on grandchild #s 11 & 12 in Jan.Try not to stress about it too much,,as stress can also create pain in your tummy.Thank goodness you see the dr pretty quick.Anxiety is no fun either!Good luck dear!**

Your overdue aren't you, gestation is 36 weeks, that happened to me on my third pregnancy.

Of course your uncomfortable, when you are switching sides you are putting pressure somewhere in your back, my back would lock and I couldn't move without extreme pain, my husband would have to literally lift me, he was very strong, by grabbing under my armpits and thighs and lift me square and turn me over to one side or the other, I would then feel the release in my back and was able to get out of bed, have a good delivery...it happens...God bless.

Could it be The baby pressing on something like the sciatica nerve? I had that start like in the 8th month. Just a thought-- I'd get it check out like you decided to do. Good Luck!

call your doctor now and see what they want you to do, even though they're not open, most pregnancy doctors have a doctor who is on call... i know when i was pregnant if i had a question or emergancy, i would call leave a message and someone would call me right back. so try that and see if it helps.

Its going to get harder and harder to sleep...with the baby moving in there and then the uncomfortableness of the big belly in your way...
