Ive been reading about it more and more has anyone else heard of this?? and have you heard of it working?? and if so what is in the pinapple to do this?? thankss

Technically yes, there is a natural chemical in pineapple than can bring on labor, but it has to be untreated, which you can hardly find, especially this time of year and you have to eat about six whole pineapples.

My father is a retired OB-GYN who delivered babies for almost 40 years. I never heard him mention pineapple juice or slices as helpful in inducing labor. On the other hand, I have heard that sex helps. It must be something in the male sperm that initiates a chemical reaction that speeds the natural progression of labor.

No. It doesn't even rank as an old wives tail, it's a rumor that's been going around for about 4 years.

There's a LITTLE evidence that it can help get you pregnant, especially if you're doing IVF.

I hadn't heard that one. I'm sure its an old wives tale, like the ones I've heard - I've heard spicy foods, lobster, and beer can help induce labor.
