It has been proven through studies that boys who have had baby dolls when they were young, ended up being better fathers. My son is three and he has had 2 already. (First ones head fell off). He’s very into cars, Spiderman, etc so he’s your typical boy but his first baby doll caused a positive change in his behavior. He became gentler around babies, more nurturing etc. However, I do not take it to the extreme and buy him baby cribs and strollers to go with it. This one he has now was $3. And when he wants to acknowledge that she’s there, he does it on his own. No pressure-just like his other toys. In fact, all young boys should have at least one baby doll. It's healthy for them.

If I had a daughter, I would probably only give her one baby doll (IF that) By giving girls baby dolls and all the fancy stuff, your automatically putting them into a stereotype when they dont even know about society yet. I'd get my daughter some trucks, school stuff, etc. Of couse I'd buy her girly things but not nearly as much and the kind that most moms of girls do. Too many stereotypes. What children really need is for their minds to be expanded outside of what they see on TV.

If they want to, why not? Barbie, G.I. Joe, Baby Alive, it doesn't matter. Not allowing them to play with certain toys doesn't mean they will no longer be interested, or that they'll become the type of boy who isn't interested in dolls. Playing with dolls also does not make a boy "gay," and isn't necessarily a symptom of homosexuality. It's just a toy, and trying to sway them from liking it will only cause them to harbor resentment toward the parent, and increase their desire for that toy. Like a spring -- the farther you hold it down, the higher it will bounce back up; for every action, an equal and opposite reaction.

Why not? Who cares? Is it the parents who wouldn't love their child if they happened to be gay? Guess what lady, a little boy playing with a doll isn't gonna turn him!

Yea!! Toy's are toy's to a little kid. And I really don't think the psychological "effects" of a little boy playing with a doll will be scaring for all of his life.

Sure. I mean, most people are okay with little Sally playing with a GI Joe, yet little Freddie can't play with a Bratz or Barbie. That's not very fair.

I say yes, and if the child gets too old and it's bothersome for some reason, I'd gently redirect the child into other interests. I suspect he'd outgrow it anyway.

of course. I played with trucks and cars and I'm not gay. actually I'm more sexually balanced than a lot of people that only played with gender-specific toys.... they grew up to become narrow-minded idiots!
