Stronger signal for hotspots?

Is there something you can buy besides a subscription to a wireless carrier to help you pick up hotspot signals stronger on your laptop?

No. The signal is what it is. You can't change it. You can, however, try to find a better wireless card that would work better with a weak signal.

You could buy one of those cards that you put into your computer, that can pick up a signal from farther way. Should cost from 40 and up. It would be called a D-Link.
