I'm 12 years old and I don't have a phone yet. But I think I need one.

I don't think it's such a good idea. I don't think many twelve year olds could handle that responsibility. Unless you have a legit reason to get one, than you shouldn't need it. Don't worry about technology like that. Just enjoy being a kid for now!
If your parents think you need one for safety or emergencies, get a prepaid phone with just a couple minutes on it. Other than that, you shouldn't need one.

I think twelve is a wee bit young for a cellphone but if you insist on getting your 12 year old one I would recommend an inexpensive one. As I recall my own three kids they weren't all that responsible at that age and things get lost pretty regularly.

i had a phone at 12 yup i got it in jan. im maybe not a great $ phone but maybe like a nice little phone like the razr or something for a 12 year

I gave a prepaid one to mine with the stipulation the she had to do her chores or I wouldn't get her more minutes and that she couldn't exceed more than 20 minutes a day.She's now 15 and is very Conservative about the time she uses her phone.it was an alltell prepaid plan and she had free nights and weekends also.

the firefly cell phone was designed for younger cell phone users, it can only call preprogrammed numbers, and the usage can be limited.. its not going to be the coolest phone in the school yard or whatever, but it is the best chance at getting your parents to get you a cell phone

hell im 15 and i dont have a cell phone. i think that you should convince ur parents like how i convinced mine! and yet i still have no cell phone... but they said yes!
