Does it have to be a Bank, I know you said your near Santa Cruz, I am guessing CA, but I could be wrong but what about Coin Star we here in Florida have them at most local grocery stories. The down side to Coin Star is they take 8% or 8 cent per each dollar. Most banks will supply you with coin rollars for you to roll your own but I don't know if you take in a big bag of coins if they will coint them for you. My suggustion is purchase one of those green things, I don;t remember what is called but we do have one, and you have to use special rollars that are rolled up on the end and you just put the rollar paper under each hole and feed your money into the hopper at the top and it sorts the money and put it in the rollars. And other than the cost of the machine which is usually less than $20 and batteries and the rollar paper you can use it over and over again. But I have noticed allot of banks do not want to take rolled money anymore. We found that local stores are always short on change expecially on weekends and they will usually take them, I am sure they will not take 100's of dollars but we have been able to get them to take 20.00 at a time. Just a thought

I can only speak for the places I have been in the past couple years that I know have coin counters. Basically, I have seen them in Kroger stores all over Michigan and Ohio. It won't hurt to check a Kroger store (or their other brands) to see if they have them in California.

I don't know of any exact places but the A&P near my town has a coinstar machine and it works. Also, you can buy a coin counter jar that when you put the change in, it registers it and tells you how much you have in the jar altogether. I got mine at CVS, but I also saw it in a Current catalog.

I think all banks have coin counters. I don't know how they would count up all the loose change otherwise.
