Presuming this is after-taxes.....

In lieu of a 10% tithe; there are many needy folks in the Lower Alabama area. I live in a subdivision along Peridido Bay & 10 min to Gulf; not on the water but close enough. Yet, there are homeless women, children & elderly sleeping out in the weather who feel lucky to have a card-board box to lie on.

Priorities: There were 2 families with multiple children burned out of there homes with only ashes left of their material lives. The 3rd priority would be a Vietnamese-American family with an older disabled father, a mother under-going treatment for a brain tumor & a 16 year old boy trying to get an education & support all of them. When he was asked what would he like for Christmas....he said I only need a job to take care of my family. $100,000 dollars towards rent, clothing, utilities, medicine & such will help with Christmas.

Next debts would be paid to owe no one.

Hearing aids for my husband & a scooter chair. A hot tub to help with his pain management & mobility. A trip thru-out the United States in our van since he's never traveled except in 6-7 states.

The rest divided between savings & a medical spending account.

Knowing I could do these things would be the only material gift I could ever need.

I would blow it by buying a million different little trinkets for under a dollar each and give them to little kids so I could see a million smiles.
This is a much better idea than doing something constructive with it like providing support to some worthwhile charitible organization or establishing some kind of trust to care for the downtrodden.
Yep, I wanna make a million kids happy for a minute.

Start an Endowment in my Grandparents name for the existing Children's Shelter in my county. My Grandparents were Foster Parents in this county for over 30 years.

Three of my aunts came to us from that shelter when they were children. One was 5 weeks old, another was 4 months old and the last one was about 15 years old. They are all in their 50's now and remained with our family since they were placed with us.

Two graduated from college with a Bachelor's Degree and one is pursuing her dreams without a degree. I love them all.

I'm not answering this question for a measly 10 points. You need to get more competitive if you want people to answer your questions. Up the ante a little bit!

But if I did answer your question, I would tell you that I would donate, invest and spend, in that order.

Wait, no! I would COUNT IT! then I would donate, invest and spend. HA!

Invest a quarter in a long standing business, like a grand hotel, another quarter in real estate, another quarter in personal property, and the last in a high interest account.
