It also did not chew through or get into anything in a carboard box in the same cabinet. I also found what looks to be but not sure mice crap in a drawer right below the counter top and chew marks on a zip lock bag with cookies and also a chew hole in a matts choclate chip bag. But I dont know how w/e it is is getting up there the drawer is always closed. Also found what looks to be mice crap in a drawer right below the counter top that holds wooden spoons. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. THanks!!!

The drawer may be closed, from the front, but it's always open to the rear of the cabinet and a mouse or rat has no problem crawling up there. As far as traps, the sticky traps work best. Spring traps might work one time then any other mice learn to avoid them. The same for baits. Mice are smart but usually don't figure out sticky traps baited with a pinch of peanut butter. Just make sure to place the trap so the mouse/rat will have to step onto the surface to get to the peanut butter.
If you want to eliminate them and keep them away, get a cat.

Sure does sound like the good ole mouse. They can crawl up from the basement through the holes where your water pipes come up.
If you have mice, NO pets or small kids, and a basement, you can get some Dcon. I put a small pie tin with water in the basement. Put the Dcon in your cabinet or wherever. When the mice eat the Dcon, they will head for water.

If you don't want to go that route, they still sell cheese and mouse traps. Actually, peanut butter is better:))

Mice. Please don't use poisons, sticky paper or painful traps. There is a humane and environmentaly safe way to catch your mice. Its a small box, you put a tiny bit of peanut butter in and when to mouse goes in, the door closes. Then you just take it to a field where a hungry hawk has chance at it. Home depo has them. Please no poisons. Poisons have a terrible chain reaction. If another animal or bird eats the dead mouse strong chance it could die too. Let nature handle it. Thank you!!!

Mice have flexible joints and collaspible rib cages to fit into narrow spots. My best bet would be to buy some traps, and place them near where you have seen signs of them.

You have mice.
