It must be noted that she thought she was degrading herself by trapping a haughty man who worked for her wealthy father, and who dared look at her with desire. She herself desired to be degraded.

So far, not one answer has addressed the depiction of this rape on the video. It is not pornographic, don't worry about your little brother sitting next to you. It's been on network TV.

From Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead so a philosophy question essentially about a fictional work to convey a Philosophy.

The characters from the film are expressions of Ayn Rand's ideals.

I feel that even though we do irrational things for love, that we do so with the goal of creating something that justifies our irrational actions. (Therefore they become rational)

This goes for most cases of love. Not just the extremes in the movie/book.

Men are generally on the hunt and baiting isn't necessary. The fact that men will usually ignore most faults presented by an attractive woman is only testament to the fact that they love the hunt and don't think about consequences.

Women often have a feeling of being incomplete or inadequate without a man. That is a tough and disastrous handicap. Women may not even be aware of how they bait the trap, they are in a different zone when coping with their own feelings of inadequacy. Men also tend to be in a different place - they ignore all learning and past experience once the chase has begun. We tend to be products of our genetic makeup and it is a miracle that anyone ever finds a good match.

If a lady wants to see if a guy can take a good punch or a scratch on the face without whimpering like a schoolgirl she is probably more discerning than most of her peers. Sadly, most men are impervious to that kind of treatment once the bait has been sighted.

i didn't watch the video ( my lil' bro next to me! ahhh!)
but that kinda reminds me of Blanche in "a streetcar named Desire" by Tennesse Williams!
the way she tries to trick him into thinking she is the prim and proper girl she once was. And how she conceals her drinking.

i guess that's different in a way but they r both after 'trapping' a guy!
i know that Blanch has longed for some kind of contact; she needs company, and the protection of men!
maybe it is the same in this situation too!

I didn't watch the video, and no one is next to me -- I just don't want to witness sick behavior. And the situation you describe sounds like two sickos in love -- I hope they're both very unhappy together.
