Considerations:

Iraq - approx 20 thousand "insurgents" armed with AK-47s and pipe bombs.

Iran - well organized, extremely nationalistic, well trained, heavily armed nation with powerful allies.

It cost a lot more during WW2. Four hundred Americans died plus all the wounded. And we are still speaking English.
Does anyone realize there are 7,000 murders in the U.S. every year. Now let's see,Iraq war 5 yr. x 7,ooo + 35,ooo unnecessary murders.Iraq a little over 3,00 deaths of our patriotic service men and women fighting for your and mine freedom.Well I served my country back in 59-61 aboard the USS VALCOUR AVP55, what have you done in return?Back our country don't be another HANOI JANE.

the stimulus bill that was set up by Bush and implemented by Obama has worked, unless you know nothing about the stock market and have never seen the dow, we were plumiting and getting ready to hit the bottom and since the stimulus bill went into effect we have skyrocketed back up and are very stable. So you need to open you eyes up and look around if you want to see the results of the stimulus bill.

I was trying to count and by Calculator said "Err - Number Too Big".

But also think about the amount of impact it will have on our army. Nuke doesn't solve. No war can be won without the Army marching in to control.

Seeing as how Iran has 3 times the population of Iraq and the vast majority are under 30, and seeing as how our military is already overstretched, and seeing as how we have 160.000 troops and innumerable private soldiers next door in Iraq where they could be easy targets; the cost could be unimaginable (in $$$ and in American lives.)

Just nuke them.

Oh wait... that cheap fix results in WW III, doesn't it? That could be expensive after all. And there would be no tax payers left to pay the bill.

Let's call it another 4-5 trillion and the whole thing ends in a stalemate.

It would be free just like Iraq

The Oil would pay for the war

"Once our troops secure Saddam's Oil fields the revenues from the fuel will pay for the cost of the war"

In addition to the crippling economic costs (1.8-2.5 Trillion USD ?)

...I think the most important cost would be our diplomatic ties around the world that are simply torn to shreds...No one in this world would take this country seriously ever again.

Probably about three times that amount and casualties among our Military.
We should leave them along as long as they are not a threat and an impending danger to us.

If we do have a war we should not send any Military into Iran. Just Bomb them.

I pray we do not have to do anything. Our Military is tired .And we as Americans are tired.
