I think its nice; one of my nieces is named Cara. Its certainly better spelled 'Cara' than 'Kara'.

My 19 month old daughter is named Cara Lynn. :) Many are spelling it with a "k" but I like the "C" better.

I think it is very nice. It has a unique twist on the name Sarah/Sara, but it's still some-what known. Now, I would pronounce it like Sarah, just with the C of course. You could have some mis-pronounciations and spellings, and she couldn't have any first-name related nick-names, but otherwise it is a sweet, pretty unique name. 8/10 stars.

My mom's name is Cara. It's fine, beautiful, but the problem that she has is that everyone calls her Karen or pronounces it CAR-a (she pronounces it care-a)

Cara.... I like it. It sounds Irish and it's not a name that you hear a lot.
It's unique but... not... unusual.

A russian word that is pronounced similarly has a meaning of vengeance or punishment of fate, if you care to know.
