There are multiple things that are options for replacing our energy today.

The most ideal type of energy is renewable energy. All that means is that the energy we use can be renewed (that way we never run out).

That usually means stuff like crops (Soy beans, corn, Myscanthus) that we can regrow, so that we don't ever run out of energy source. Plant energy tends to come in biodiesel, and most deisel cars can be easily modified to run it.

An example of biodiesel is E-85, which is 85 percent Ethanol (A plant based fuel) and 15 percent unleaded gas. This is already being sold, and many people can fix their cars up to make it work in their cars for under 500$.

However there are many other options, Hydrogen fuel is a slightly less viable option, but it may be more believable in the far future. We could capture the power of the sun to do this! Nuclear energy is an option, but we are still trying to hone the craft, since it's such a radioactive idea.

I am very hopeful that whatever happens in the future, we will have fuel that reduces CO2 emissions (thats what gives us global warming) and provides a cheaper alternative to the ever rising gas prices.

It also will reduce our importation of gas, as most of the "ingredients" we would need for biodiesel are right here in the US. So pretty much what I'm trying to say is that alternate energy is pretty rawesome!

Half the planet will have been turned over to growing sources of bio fuels (which will lead to extinctions and hunger and the further disenfranchidement of the poor in countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia)
On a less cynical note, we are adapting already, but (getting cynical again) governments are investing in new technology, but not as much as is needed, because they don't want to damage their countries economies - this deliberately puts the problem off onto future administrations.

Key-rist ; is that oldish? 80"s is oldish. there is an advantage there because of the fact it would not 0.5 the "Key-rap" you suggested above.(so as that they are in a position to't fail in the event that they do no longer exist). besides if the injection pump is going, that's the fee of the motor vehicle. massive rig truckers force Diesel trucks because of the fact they're THAT sturdy. the full diesel element is a few thing you may desire to "attempt out first" with a "apartment" may be a Volvo, i do no longer care. Have it for a pair of days so which you may desire to fill up the tank a pair of cases. superb time is the iciness with a bone chilling wind so chilly, your eyelids have frozen to their eyeballs.. in case you acquire an 80's vehicle that toy might desire to have a block heater and it is going to have been plugged in in one day. You forgot? nicely you extra suitable desire which you have a rather new extreme amp battery because of the fact the glo plugs are gonna suck some juice. then you definitely swap the foremost to the starter and desire that the engine will seize. yet once you probably did no longer shop up with the maintenance then kiss that desire sturdy bye. . definite they choose maintenance like injector timing(in elementary terms at a diesel repairshop) . Say it this manner, I had mine(80 VW diesel) checked each 2nd belt exchange(which I did myself in my storage) with favourite kit. -or a hundred and twenty,000 miles) Belt exchange became completed in accordance to belt producer which became 60,000 miles(or each 5 years)>and a belt fee me like $sixty 5.00. So, why no longer? Water pump stayed.. I have been given sixteen previous belts on the wall from a similar engine. nevertheless same waterpump, radiator, injection pump, injectors. and nevertheless became no longer burning blue (it desires one million quart of oil between oil modifications because it burns some oil--no longer a seen blue>>all diesels are like that.) . So i do no longer understand the place your checklist comes from. yet gas autos now have gas injector pumps and gas injectors(in order that which you recognize)
