As long as they aren't ex-directory you should be able to get it from directory enquiries.

Yes, unless its something like Smith, London or Jones, Cardiff.

My brother, years ago, worked at Directory Enquiries and used to deal with calls coming in from the Canada / States.

One American caller wanted the number for a Mr Jones, Cardiff area. My brother explained that 'there was rather a large number of them,' and he quickly estimated that at as there were 26 pages of Joneses, Times three columns, Times maybe 200 entries per column, then there had to be somewhere around something like 15,000 PLUS of them.

Undaunted by this news, the American said, ''Ok, give me a few."

Sash.

Yes, usually, if the number isn't "unpublished". A regular phone book (available for many towns in local libraries) should give you the listing, or 411 websites on the internet often work. Those are free. There is usually a charge to access "directory assistance" on your phone, but that is another way to get phone numbers. For a fee, some websites even "promise" to get "unpublished" numbers for you. I've never dealt with them, so I can't say what their success rate is. Depends on how badly you want the number, I guess.

The BT white pages are on the internet and as long as they're not ex-directory or unlisted then the phone number will come up.

You always could via directory enquiries - just explain you have lost the number and unless they have registered as ex-directory you should get the info you want.

Simple, go to www.yellowpages.com, click on find a person, then hit find by "Address", put in the address, hit find...If the number is listed by that address it will come up.
