Better chance to sign Santana, I don't believe you will ever see Haren on the Yankees or Red Sox.

The latest reports are that the Yankees have shown an interest in Haren and the Sox are still lingering around the Santana buffet. I can tell you right now that if Billy Beane is looking to trade Haren and he wants to work the deal with NY, it won't include Hughes or Kennedy. Cashman has put his foot down and unless it's about Santana --- don't even ask for Hughes and Kennedy in the deal.

Dan Haren will not sign with either the Red Sox or the Yankees. The Red Sox have no infielders they are willing to give up, and thats all the Oakland Athletics need. The Athletics are really coming close to sign the ace, Danny Haren, and it will happen.

Haren will end up going to the team that offers the A;s the most in return. This is a trade and Haren has 3 more cheap years on his contract. He's the best "cheap" pitcher still out there. Billy Beane knows this and he knows what he wants in return. Its possible Haren will not be traded at all, but Beane is going to try and get the most out of him that he can. I don't think he'll go to NYY or BOS. It wouldn't suprise me to see him with NYM or someone else looking for starting pitching that has quality prospects to offer Beane.

Billy Bean is not stupid-he would rank NYY or Boston over the coals to get Haren-and that won't happen. And to the poster above who said Haren is a one of those redneck type pitchers who won't survive playing there...you mean a redneck like Clemens who played in both NY and Boston?

Dont think so because Haren is one of those Rednek type pitchers. He will not suceed in any big market.Look at him going to a team like the D-Backs,Dodgers,Cardinals,Astros, or even Resign long term with Oakland.

You can picture him in a Sox uniform because he is from Monterey Park, CA, and looks like a hippie. He looks very liberal for some reason, and he would fit in well in ultra-democratic Boston.
