Oboe, with the Tympani a close second. I wanted to learn an instrument in elementary school, and asked to play the oboe, but I was given the viola because I was the only child who had arms long enough to hold a viola. No, I don't love the viola, since it was forced on me. I have always loved the lower tones of the oboe, and think that's also why I like the Tympani best of all of the percussion instruments. Some would think that the viola would be the same tones, but it's not ... the instrument that comes closest to the oboe and the tympani in tone is the cello. WHY do I love the oboe best? Because I had a collection of 'classics for children' that had Peter and the Wolf on it, and I fell in love with the oboe from listening to that piece of music.

My favorite instrument to play is clarinet. My favorite one to listen to is probably an acoustic guitar. Really, I prefer a whole orchestra and playing a composition that seems to allude to greatness, a grand destiny, an impending glorious future, etc.

Guitar by a long shot.
Not a choice I know but piano is the only instrument that can compete with guitar as far as it's lack of limitations.

Out of those 4? Guitar. But I would have to say harmonica out of all in existence, I just love to sound of it in a song.
