There is a problem with the ABS ( antilock brake system ) That light should not have come on only if your car was slipping. The ABS system does not monitor wheels spinning, it monitors your wheels for lockup if you apply the brakes very hard You will need to take it to a reputable mechanic for a diagnosis to find out what is wrong. It is possible that it is a wheel sensor, which is the most common problem for ABS systems.

In most cases, the light will go off when driving without spinning any of the tires. There might be a memory of the wheels slipping, and might have to be cleared with a scan tool (auto zone, or places like that will do it for free)

If your Element is still under warranty, you can find out from your Dealer if it is , you can take it to them and they will check it out and if it is a Warranty covered matter they will
repair it. Also if it isn't they will tell you and give you an estimate of cost/parts/and LABOR.

YOU WILL BE FINE UNTIL YOU TAKE IT TO THE DEALER BECAUSE IT IS UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY WILL RESET IT FOR YOU.
